by major on June 9, 2009

Last week, I was in Kalipayan Resort in Dasmariñas, Cavite with a friend from Germany who visited Manila. It was a nice resort which can be found along Aguinaldo Hiway.

Kalipayan Resort has a hotel with 18 Rooms - each with its own living room & bath, cable TV, airconditioning, and phone system with IDD and NDD Calls. It has a 900-meter swimming pool with an island lounge area in one of its side and a restaurant and bar on the other side. Around the pool, there’s 21 Dining Huts for swimmers to dine in or as a resting place.

Aliwan Festival 2009

by major on April 25, 2009

I went to the Philippine’s Grandest Fiesta earlier called the Aliwan Festival in its 7th year. It is held yearly in the CCP Complex vicinity in Pasay city.

It was a wonderful experience seeing contingents from different places around the Philippines joining the streetdance competition and the Grand Parade. Some of the popular ones are the Dinagyang festival dancers from Iloilo, Kadayawan of Davao, Sinulog of Cebu city, Panagbenga Festival of Baguio city and a lot more.

There’s also a Bazaar for the shopaholics, wherein native products from many places are for sale, starting from food, furnitures, accessories, etc..

Palmridge Resort - Pansol Laguna

by major on April 24, 2009

For the second time in the month, our family went for an outing in Pansol, Laguna. This time, I had the chance to get a reservation at Palmridge Resort owned by Mr. Eric A. Elazegui. The resort used to be their family’s resthouse before they open it out to public.

Palmridge is one of the best, if not the best private pool resort I have visited in Pansol, Laguna. The mediterranean theme inspired house is very relaxing with its 3 fully-airconditioned bedrooms upstairs, each having its own clean bathrooms aside from the 3 bathrooms located downstairs.

Manila Ocean Park

by major on April 13, 2009

After attending mass in Antipolo church last Easter Sunday,we then went to the Manila Ocean Park, the newest tourist destination in the Philippines located at the back of Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park, Manila.

Entrance fee costs Php400.00 for adults and Php350.00 for children below 4 1/2 ft in height. Manila residents are given 10% discounts so am lucky to have my voters id with me.

The place is so beautiful. You will first enter into the rainforest area wherein you’ll see fishes in aquariums, starfishes and crocodiles. Then in the Bahura, you will see more fishes like small stingrays, seahorses, stonefish, and more that I can’t remember their names.
